Understanding the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System

Chevrolet Infotainment | Portland, ME

If you’ve been browsing our inventory of new Chevrolet vehicles, you’ve almost certainly come across the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system in many of them. This is an innovative tool for mobile connectivity, but it’s no help to you if you don’t know how to use it. Check out this quick guide, which will tell you what you need to know to get started with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system.

Color Touch Screen

When you interact with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, you’ll do so through a color touch screen. Many models come with a standard 7-inch screen, but some offer upgrades to larger screens, up to 8 or 10.2 inches. Many Chevy models also have steering-wheel-mounted controls and voice recognition, both of which let you navigate the options in the system.

Touch Screen Options

Like a smartphone, the touch screen displays a number of icons on different screens. You can swipe through to explore things like playback settings, 4G LTE Wi-Fi® connectivity, and in-vehicle apps.

Smartphone Connectivity

All Chevy models equipped with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system also include Bluetooth®, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Bluetooth® lets you connect the audio from your phone to the screen without using wires or place hands-free calls. Apple CarPlay® and Android Audio™ take this a step further by bringing the media library, contacts, and apps from your smartphone to the dash-mounted display. You’ll either connect your phone with a cable or wirelessly, depending on the model and what’s offered.
