2020 Chevy Bolt EV Range Estimated at 259 Miles

2020 Chevy Bolt EV | Portland, ME

Earlier this year, Chevrolet announced the EPA-estimated range of the new 2020 Chevy Bolt EV, and it’s impressive. The new Bolt EV will be able to travel 259 miles on a single charge,* which reflects a 21-mile increase over the previous model. This dramatic improvement should go a long way towards reducing anxiety among Americans on the fence about switching to all-electric vehicles.

“The Bolt EV set the benchmark for long-range, affordable electric vehicles, and we’re excited to raise the bar by offering nearly 10 percent more EPA-estimated range for the 2020 model year,” remarked Tim Grewe, director of Global Battery Cell Engineering and Strategy. “At Chevrolet, we’re constantly listening to customer feedback and we heard the desire for more range. The team worked diligently to find ways to improve battery energy, giving customers the confidence to go more than the extra mile.”

So how has Chevy achieved this amazing feat? The energy of the cell electrodes became the focus of the automaker’s battery engineering teams. By making small tweaks to the chemistry of the cells, the team was able to increase the battery’s efficiency by a significant amount. That means the physical battery pack did not change, nor did the way it is integrated into the Bolt’s structure.

If you’re as excited as we are for this game-changing EV, we can’t wait to see you here at Quirk Chevrolet of Portland when the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV launches later this year.

2021 Chevy Trailblazer Preview

2021 Chevy Trailblazer | Portland, ME

The upcoming 2021 Trailblazer is an all-new addition to Chevy’s diverse lineup. It will slot between the Trax and the Equinox to provide drivers with a larger choice in the popular small SUV segment.

The 2021 Trailblazer puts safety at the forefront. Available safety features include Front Pedestrian Braking, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist. According to Steve Majoros, Chevy’s director of passenger car and crossover marketing, “These features deliver added confidence and peace of mind behind the wheel, helping drivers monitor the vehicle’s surroundings and the driving environment with an available combination of camera, short-range radars, and ultrasonic sensors.”

The Trailblazer takes a step away from Chevy’s typical crossover design. It features a standard two-tone roof on the Trailblazer RS model, as well as a touch-screen display with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.

“The Trailblazer’s great design enables more personalization,” said Majoros. “Trailblazer is a continuation of the design language for Chevy’s crossover family and extends our momentum into one of the industry’s fastest-growing segments.”

The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer will hit U.S. dealerships in early 2020. Until then, check back with us at Quirk Chevrolet of Portland for updates on the upcoming Trailblazer and other new Chevy models.
